The Innovative Teacher Project

Welcome to the Innovative Teacher Project (ITP). Like the citizens of Reggio Emilia, Italy, ITP strives to create a culture of dialogue and research in Northern California that promotes the pleasure of inquiry among children and adults. The cornerstone of the Reggio philosophy is an image of the child as competent, strong, inventive and full of potential – subjects with rights instead of needs. At ITP we offer opportunities for others interested in supporting the potential in children to collaborate, formulate personal interpretations, hypotheses and ideas about teaching, learning and living.

Roundtables

Join us at one of our many roundtable offerings.

The focus of this year's roundtables is "Embracing Expressive Languages and Technology as tools in Reggio Inspired Schools".

Seminars

Professional development is at the core of the Reggio approach to early childhood education. Participate in one of our seminars.

Network

Our circle is growing. Find a network school in San Francisco's Bay Area.

History

Reggio Emilia is more than a small city in northern Italy. It is home to one of the most highly respected early childhood education systems in the world. Read more.

The Studio Series:
ITP began as a direct response to the interest in the exhibit "The Hundred Languages of Children". For the last 20 years ITP has brought high quality professional development to the San Francisco Bay Area. The Studio Series is designed to allow for educators to have hands on experiences with various mediums.

We are excited to announce the ITP Studio Series beginning with The Language of Photography to Deepen Children's Learning both in Preschool and Kindergarten presented by Jordan Guillory, Atelierista of Mid-Pacific Institute.
